About Us

Kedarnath Temple

Canada Hindu Vote is a non-partisan, grassroots not-for-profit organization committed to build awareness and engagement within the Canadian Hindu diaspora. There are over 800,000 Hindus in Canada, and Canada Hindu Vote works within the community through direct voter outreach and civic education.

Canada Hindu Vote is intently focussed to ensure that the Canadian voters are empowered to make their voices heard to advance Canada’s democracy leading to a better quality of life, with greater security and stability while maintaining an equitable and inclusive society.

Our goal is to proactively engage with the voter base, encouraging people to vote, including women, minorities, displaced persons, youth and others who may be less lively to vote today. We hope to help them understand their rights, Canada’s political system, the laws that may affect their day-to-day lives, how to register and cast a ballot, etc.

What We Do

Educate

With much pessimism about politics today, we work to educate and eliminate misunderstandings and incorrect perceptions

Encourage

We find our purpose in helping identify gaps in understanding with the electorate, about ridings, our elected representatives and the process of election across Canada, while encouraging the community members to be more involved with the community and policies affecting us.

Simplify

We look to simplify politics and the confusing naming conventions, so every new Canadian Hindu voter understand who they vote for, and what positions they are casting their vote for all various levels of the government.

Accountability

The democratic election process is the best opportunity for the voting public to seek accountability from the elected representatives regarding the issues impacting the community.

Participate

Each election cycle showing declining voting trend, we look to encourage high voter participation in the electoral process at all 3 levels of the government (Federal, Provincial and City).

Influence

The process of filing nomination, voting and electing your representative provides a medium of influence to the community, in having issues and concerns plaguing the community addressed and prioritized.
